Hey Lovebugs! I am currently writing from SUNNY ARIZONA, and yes, I am LOVING it! We have extended our stay TWO more nights then we planned and I’m not mad about it.
BUT with little vacays that include tons of fun dinners, drinks by the pool, and lazy mornings us healthy girls on the go gotta keep our bods and health in check! So Here are just a few tips that I have been doing while here in Arizona!
Healthy Cocktail Options:
I love me, a good summer cocktail but all the wasted calories can leave absolutely no space for splurges with food- and I’m WAY TOO much of a foodie for that nonsense. So here is my favorite summer time cocktail that I ask for anyone where I go:
Fresh Vodka Lemonade:
Vodka (I prefer Tito’s- but try to stick with plain and not flavored, those have extra sugars typically)
Fresh lemon and lime (like I literally ask ask for a whole lemon and whole lime)
Muddled strawberries (just a few- don’t need tons at all)
Top it off with club soda
If you ask me, breakfast is the easiest meal to keep healthy while traveling. So I always try to stick to a good, simple, fresh breakfast. I do two eggs, whatever meat sounds the best and some fresh fruit- oh, and ALWAYS start the day with some lemon water. Another good option is doing a parfait if they have plain yogurt! This will keep you energized but feeling light and not over stuffed.
I think the biggest thing honestly is to do something ACTIVE EVERYDAY on vacation, it doesn’t have to include your normal weekly workouts but go for a hike, bike ride, trail run, do a group class- anything to get you up and moving a bit…promise it will relax you MORE! Zack and I usually let ourselves sleep in a little on vacation but still get up and go for a run together or a fun hike just to get a little sweat sesh in but make it fun and something we are doing TOGETHER.
