Let’s just pretend that this is a “special” Monday since it’s the first Monday of MAY! So one, happy Monday and two, happy May!! Spring has sprung and the weather is ALL OVER THE PLACE. I didn’t know the need for spring transitional weather attire was so REAL, until moving out here to Denver. One second it’s 80 degrees and next second I’m kicking myself for forgetting gloves and there is a snow storm. (maybe not THIS dramatic but pretty much).

So today’s fashion post is about a couple pieces that are perfect for layering; whether you are somewhere bipolar like Denver or you just need a fabulous piece to throw on for chilly nights or brisk mornings.

I recently had the privilege of meeting the sweetest designer, Dana of Never A Wallflower and was BLOWN away by her spring collection. Literally you guys, I wanted to get shipped away to the Hampton’s and never come back and just wear all her clothes!! haha. Never A Wallflower’s spring line is girly, sophisticated, fun, and most importantly FLATTERING & well made!

I decided to start myself off with this stunning cream poncho and these chambray shorts! I styled them separately and together for plenty of reasons why you need BOTH pieces in your life πŸ˜‰

Styling A Poncho W/ Shorts

The Details:

I think what I love most about this outfit is it lets me BE LAZY. I felt like I didn’t even need to style it- the poncho does that for you! the gorgeous neckline and the quilted creme gives every outfit this effortless finish.

And you guys THESE SHORTS…

The chambray is so soft, the high waist is ULTRA flattering, and they have this sheen that makes them appropriate for a night out too! These will be on REPEAT!

These cutesy little studs are from Dana’s line too! Never A Wallflower can be a one stop shop or perfect for pairing with your everyday basics- I could pair these little earrings with everything from a cute dress to a cute workout outfit!

Styling A Poncho W/ A Pencil Skirt

For my petite frame I felt like this poncho style looked best with something more fitted. So styled the poncho with my lace pencil skirt, a fitted black tank, and a classic pump. I kept everything else basic BUT tailored and a mix of textures like the quilt in the poncho, the lace in the skirt, and the shine in my pumps.

I felt like I could wear this look to work, a date night, or GIRLS night- because I felt fabulous and put together. An outfit that you can wear to whatever shenanigans you get into after your 9-5 is ALWAYS a good staple to have in your closet!

Dollfaces, I have a love affair with pieces that feel like they WEAR THEMSELVES. Never A Wallflower’s spring line is full of girly, sophisticated styles that don’t even require…styling. Check out Dana’s line and let me know what you think- I promise you will not be disappointed with anything ONLY impressed by the quality, the fit, the fabrics & styles- not to mention all the attention you will get wearing them πŸ˜‰ #SHOWSTOPPER.

Now, I gotta take care of my GIANT to-do list because I have so many fun changes coming and new stuff for all of YOU! So keep checking in,

Cheers, Darlings!
