I got a little confession for you, Darlings…lately I have just been feeling a bit “OFF”. I have been in major need of pep talks in the morning, good playlists, PRAYERS, and well- as I like to call them, POWER CLOTHES! And my loves, THIS dress is a POWER DRESS- I slipped it on and felt like a movie star! You see, it’s not the clothes that define you but sometimes they can REMIND you of how fabulous you are…on those, you know “OFF” days.

I am all about the adding pops of metallic to our wardrobes for the rest of summer and into fall!! But darlings, I think having a little more than a pop is ALWAYS a good idea…

This dress shines and shimmers like a mermaid- I think it makes for a great cocktail dress when done up with a good strappy heel or for just a day you NEED A MOVIE STAR MOMENT by pairing it with sandals and simple jewelry.

As soon as I saw this dress I knew I wanted to shoot it with Brittany Renee Photography. We actually shot this dress last week when I was probably at my PEAK of this “OFF” season, and you know what??? I slipped on this dress, Brittany worked her magic and I realized that if we don’t take control of our emotions and our lives no one else will…sometimes I don’t know what I would do without Brittany’s constant reminders of why we chase these dreams…

Darlings, YOU have to CREATE the life you want to live.

Most importantly on those “OFF” days, remember YOU ARE PERFECT just as you are. I am sure that even Angelina Jolie has ugly days, and Mark Zuckerberg feels inadequate…but I have a feeling it’s HOW they deal with those seasons that makes them STAND APART. 

So put on that movie star dress, and remind yourself of who you are on those “OFF” days- if you ask me they ain’t got SH!$ on you 😉

So I hope that at some point this summer you at least FEEL like you are vacation! I mean this could be a full blown trip to Bahamas (if this is you please take me!), camping/glamping, a staycation at your fave hotel, or heck a weekend where you layout in your backyard drinking pina coladas but you should no matter what take a second to breathe, relax, and DRESS for VACATION!

I did my monthly shopping trip to Apricot Lane Centennial and as soon as I slipped on this little romper I knew I needed my sunnies, a beach bag, and a drink in my hand!
