How To Get Back On Track After Traveling

September 21, 2016 by Desire Falk No Comments

Darlings, I ADORE TRAVELING, I think it’s one of the most important things we can do to continue finding ourselves and learning about the world around us. And when I travel I dive right in; I am trying all the new different foods, drinking the drinks, basing my schedule off the current time zone, and hoping shopping and museums count as cardio. All, of this is LIFE but when REAL LIFE settles in, getting back on track and feeling your best can be tough.

So I have found a few key things that make a giant difference when getting back into town; some including food and workout choices and others are just my new favorite workout outfit that makes it a little easier to GET TO THE GYM! Nonetheless, being a Healthy Girl On The Go takes work so hope these tips helps you like they are helping me after my post NYC blues 😉

Ways To Get Back On Track:

Lemon Water, lemon, Water, Lemon Water

Make a pitcher of it and sip on it ALL day. The lemon aids so much in detoxing and the water keeps you hydrated and your metabolism kicking butt!

SWEAT

if you didn’t workout for a while and are feeling out of shape at least start with some hot yoga classes to get your body SWEATING. I always feel so much better after a little sweat sesh even if that means a run in combo with some sauna time or just a good long hot yoga flow class!

Replace at least ONE meal a day for a week with a green juice or protein shake to give your body a little BREAK!

I love getting a good green juice or something with cayenne pepper or just making a good quality protein shake to just stay off solid foods for a meal a day, totally helps feel LIGHTER.

CARDIO

After you eased into some easier sweat time really try and AMP UP YOUR CARDIO, it helps so much with loosing extra fat and feeling back to your normal self.

Low Carb dinners and no eating past 8pm

Stick to meat and veggies for your dinners– of course keep them yummy but just LOW carb, if you need a carb try a sweet potato side!! And then set an alarm for 8pm so you know- NO MORE SNACKING!

All Else Fails…Wear A Cute Workout Outfit it may make you actually GO to the gym and make better food decisions haha…

Shop This Workout Look:

Mesh Cropped Tank: Free People

I can’t get over how stinkin’ cute and comfy this crop is! And you can make it look so different depending on the color and style of sports bra you wear under!! Plus- great pice for such a statement piece.

Metallic Leggings: Nordstrom

The print is LIFE and the fit is incredible!! You ALL need these for FALL!!

Shoes: Nikes

All white Nikes that are comfy and go with everything- from outfits like this to dresses!

Watch: Christian Paul Watches

I think I wear this ALL the time..maybe even too much!

see the cute legging’s details?! Can’t get over it!

Darlings, the most important thing to remember is to NOT be hard on yourself and in all honestly be proud of yourself that you ENJOYED TRAVEL, that you took it all in for what it was. And now, get your booty in gear and sweat it out, eat the green stuff, and start planning your next adventure.

Cheers, Darlings!
